Rae, an anxious young adult battles with her crippling fear of dying. After being pushed to enjoy a night out with friends, they all encounter death too soon, too young, and without warning.
Now We Wait is a social piece about gun violence and its ability to happen to anyone and anywhere.
Born and raised in Appleton, WI, Megan Kitzman has surrounded herself with the arts since she was young. From performing in dozens of musicals and plays to spending three years doing improv comedy, she couldn’t get enough of the stage. It wasn’t until a couple of years ago that she realized film and tv were where she wanted to be for the rest of her career. With the resources she’s had access to during her time at the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, she never could’ve imagined making a piece such as Now We Wait, which happens to be Kitzman’s directorial debut!
Kitzman wants to thank everyone who helped bring Now We Wait to life. Without the sacrifices and contributions that all who had worked on this piece made, Now We Wait would never have come to fruition.
Written by Megan Kitzman, Now We Wait is a visual adaption of her fear of public shootings. Gun violence is the leading cause of death in children 19 years and younger in the United States and doesn't seem to be slowing down. Rather than provide a narrative solution, she created a chilling visual of the hold gun violence has on the mind and its ability to paralyze individuals from enjoying their lives.
