.

Director Bio:

Dom Udell is a Director & Cinematographer for Commercials, Documentary and Feature Film. He has directed and/or DP’d 20+ short films, countless advertisements and recently finished shooting his first feature film, backed by the Panavision New Filmmakers Grant. He is currently working on a documentary film with Wavelength Productions about overcoming disability.

Dom is a lifelong student of film. His study began in a Michigan garage exploring his Dad’s extensive VHS collection, which included many obscure 80s classics. He later graduated from Michigan State University and began his career in Chicago.

His work explores themes of relationships, nostalgia, humor and the curiosities of the mundane. Dom’s love of cinematic storytelling and the creative process are what drive him in the pursuit of filmmaking. He also thinks film sets are like summer camp, and that’s cool too.

When Dom is not contemplating the diffusion used in the last movie he saw, he’s most likely hiking, taking guitar class or exploring new food in the city with his wife.

Director Statement:

This film is an exploration of grief, loss and the sudden lack of a person in your life. It also explores the strangeness of these things and the unexpected responses to them.

Is it an end or a beginning?
