Director Bio:

Katharin (everyone calls me K) Mraz is the proud owner of Ladie K Productions, Inc., Smart Pretty Designs, Inc., Creative Works Media, Inc., and Ladie K Casting, Inc. Adopted from South Korea at the age of 2, she’s been involved in the entertainment industry for over 25 years, working both sides of the camera as a filmmaker, actress, model, photographer, and writer.

Her mission is to bring attention to BIPOC, LGBTQ, immigrants, women, and those less represented in the media by creating better content with richer stories. She believes by bringing fresh and progressive perspectives to audiences, one has the power to change the minds of the future. Her first short film, KAD (Korean Adoptee), is set to hit the festival circuit in 2023 while her feature film directorial debut, You’re OUT!, is set to be released Summer of 2023, and her second feature film, SCHIZOLOVE, is currently in post production.

Mraz is also a commercial production designer and producer, contributor to various entertainment and fashion magazines, a Second City Conservatory Alumni, home chef, animal lover, and mother. Long term, Katharin dreams of starting an Asian American distribution channel!

Director Statement:

KAD is one of the most personal stories I could ever tell. I took 3 separate experiences in my life and put them into one film to show the different scenarios a trans-racial adoptee may go through on a daily basis, especially if they are female. I hope this film touches people of various backgrounds, and resonates with those who live between two.
