Director Bio:

Cynthia Johnson has been making films for a decade following 20+ years as a daily newspaper journalist. She focuses her lens on issues of importance to women, children and education.

Johnson’s second documentary, “Homecoming,” was an official selection in the 2000 Milwaukee Film Festival and followed the story of Elena Velez, an up-and-coming fashion designer from Milwaukee who returned to the city for fashion week after acclaim in New York, London and Paris.

“Artist in Bloom,” followed the creative efforts of floral designers competing in the Milwaukee Art Museum’s Art In Bloom exhibit in 2018.
