Director's Bio:

Kay is a writer/director/producer born in Alabama to a Georgia musician and an Alabama seamstress. After graduating high school, she joined the Army National Guard which took her all over the U.S. as well as overseas. Simultaneously while serving her country, she graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a BA in Theatre before moving to Georgia. Upon moving to Georgia she completed a Production Assistant course through the Georgia Film Academy and immediately immersed herself into the Atlanta film industry. Although bringing stories to life is her passion and career-focus, she's also an actively licensed and practicing trauma nurse and an avid world traveler. You can find her gainfully employed on many quality Indies as well as studio projects as she continues to gain credits in the film and television world. Kay has been a participant in multiple fellowships, the most recent being the Warner Media Veterans Media Fellowship & Writer's Guild Foundation Veteran Writing Project.

Director Statement

After spending years in military service and then transitioning to motherhood, both the writer, Barbara, and myself, each found ourselves feeling behind our peers. It’s hard to compete in the entertainment job market when instead of making film for the past 12 years, you've been handling national security and juggling soccer schedules for your kids. Instead of focusing on that, we're striving to use the skills we honed in the military, and as mothers, to create. In a currently divided world, we wanted to show how universally connected, yet still unique, we all actually are, no matter what background you come from. Thus, we put together a cast & crew made, of 98% women from all different parts of the world and told this story.
