It’s the height of summer 1999, the time is 2AM. You’ve fallen asleep on the couch when a glow from the TV nudges you awake. Enter Pastor Holy offering you the deal of a lifetime… Or rather, the deal of an eternity.

Director's Bio:

Stephanie is a New York City-based screenwriter and filmmaker originally from Milwaukee, WI. After studying English Literature at the University of Wisconsin, she went on to receive a graduate certificate in screenwriting from the University of California-Los Angeles, as well as eventually earning her MFA in playwriting from the Actors Studio Drama School.

She has previously worked with the Milwaukee Film Festival, as well as various production companies in film development and story editing.

Most recently, she wrote/directed/produced/edited her debut short film, DICKTATION, a political satire about abortion. The short went on to screen at multiple festivals. Stephanie's focus as a filmmaker is to tell genre blending, boundary pushing stories centered around women.

Director's Statement:

In theory, institutions (whether they be religious, political, educational, etc.) are established with the intent of benefitting and supporting either society as a whole, or a certain demographic within our society. But what happens when the authority of an institution falls into the hands of the corrupt, power hungry, and apathetic? How do the ideologies of an institution get twisted to fit a villainous agenda? And to what extent will people blindly follow and believe what is being fed to them, no matter how absurd the deceit may be.

As fun, silly, and satirical as this film is, the engine underneath it all is my exploration of all these things. Because I think it is beneficial to constantly question and challenge establishments as they evolve, and sometimes the best way to do that is through a little bit of comedy!
