Directors Bio:

Frank O'Neil is a graduate of DJCAD's Animation Course, where he directed Crèche & Burn (2025).

Director's Statement:
Since reading Frankenstein in my youth, I've been very interested in what the undead represent in relation to our fears - fear of others, of pushing beyond societal expectations, of the afterlife - and in Crèche & Burn's case, playing on the fear of monotony and routine. Inspired by hustle culture and the Japanese phenomenon of "black companies" which work their staff to death, Crèche & Burn's comedy rests on the fact that this kind of desk work robs people of their humanity before they even have the chance to die. Not to be all doom and gloom, though - a lot of the inspiration also comes from web series like Eddsworld's portrayal of zombies, and we can rock out to Innes Warwick's kickass score while we ruminate on what capitalism takes from us and how squishy babies are.
