VOICES HEARD 2015: Adolescence

Brings to life moments that all youth are confronted with on a daily basis: making the right decisions. While under the influence, these adolescents mistake dangers of the following the fun of a Halloween party. The film portrays the sudden consequences found when the all-to-common events take a turn for the worst. A cinema verite documentary style approach fused with modern motifs allows for the narration by Jason Carley, a Native American born to the La Coutre Oreilles tribe in Northern Wisconsin, to remind us all that, "what can be seen as fun can be deadly."




Director's Bio:

Darren Alexander Cole (1985). Was born in Kansas City, Missouri. Received a BFA in Digital Media from University of Milwaukee-Wisconsin (2008) and is currently completing the last year of his MFA at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston. Has worked on a diverse variety of projects including touring with P. Diddy, developing music videos for Rick Ross, interviewing the likes of Noam Chomsky and Justin Bieber, and making commercial work with Bombay Sapphire, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Nike Jordan and many more. Currently focusing on creating shorts, feature films, painting and performance art.
