2024 Voices Seen Presentation

Since 2019 Voices Heard has added a live component to its programing block, to bring the area's multicultural arts and businesses to a wider audience. We've had fashion, dance and local business of color, this year we are bringing back poetry. Featuring, Mario "The Poet" Willis, who served as the Milwaukee Public Library Poet Laureate (2022-2024).

Mario “The Poet” Willis is a poet, podcaster and spoken word artist. A Milwaukee native, Mario has been featured throughout the city and the Midwest as a spoken word artist, writing guide and performance coach. He is a two-time member of Milwaukee's National Poetry Slam Team and served as the Milwaukee Public Library Poet Laureate (2022-2024). Mario’s motto “Don’t Panic, Be Awesome” has become his life’s work through his writing and philanthropy.





King Kamonzi
is a universal performer who can relate to any age group, culture, nationality and genre of music.

















Moe Sghetti is a Milwaukee native and spoken word artist. Her love for poetry began as a college freshman when she joined the Lyrically Inclined Poetry Club, where she started writing and performing. MoeSghetti is also the host of the “Moe-ment with MoeSghetti” podcast, where she uses her mental health background to provide education about mental and spiritual wellness. “I use my artistry to help me express myself and tell the story of my healing journey. I hope to inspire others to do the same.”
