Our waiver period is only two weeks this year, that's due to the constant requests from filmmakers. Every year, more and more filmmakers ask for waivers and the only way that we can control the amount is to reduce the time that we accept them.
Please, read our rules and guidelines before asking. Many filmmakers that ask for waivers don't do this, and we end up finding that their film doesn't even fit our qualifications.
We also only focus on hard luck cases, people who need a leg up. If you have been in around 20-50 festivals already, we'll pass on your film.
And, we'll only hand out one waiver per individual asking. In the past, we've had distribution services asking waivers for 81 films, that's a hard no.
Also, if you get a waiver, don't anticipate that you are automatically in. With previous seasons we've only accepted one film from the waivers.
